Chinese mobile manufacturing giant, Xiaomi has been wowing the Indian smartphone users with its beautiful and capable offerings that come with affordable price tags. The Xiaomi smartphones are being now used as yardsticks to determine the capabilities of the new rival smartphones in similar segments.

Now, Xiaomi is going to release another great new offering in the market, which is also going to be its largest smartphone model. Named as the new Xiaomi Mi Max, the new model is actually a large screened phablet that will obviously boast of many better things than just a large display.

The new Xiaomi Mi Max is expected to be another super success from the stable of Xiaomi and it is expected to be a perfect amalgamation of beauty and brains. So, it is not only meant to be an eye candy with a huge screen, but also offer great smartphone experience with good specs and features.

The Xiaomi Mi Max comes in an alluring body that looks sleek, stylish, and premium. The phablet’s big size has been compensated with its slim design to ensure its portability. The Xiaomi Mi Max boasts of a large 6.44-inch full HD IPS LCD display that comes with a screen resolution of along with a native screen resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The display also comes with a Sunlight Display mode, which enhances the legibility of the screen even under direct sunlight. The company is also publicizing that the device boasts of a night reading mode as well aside the ‘dynamic global pixel adjusting system’. This large and bright screen is of course the primary attraction of the new Mi Max.

Hardware & OS
The Mi Max gets powered by two chipsets, one a dual core processor that ticks at 1.8 GHz and a quad core chipset that is clocked at a speed of 1.4 GHz both of which are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 MSM8956 processor. The processor is aided by 3 GB of RAM, while an Adreno 510 graphics card handles graphics. The smartphone runs on the latest Android version 6.0 Marshmallow OS that comes with a bundle of great new conveniences.

Fingerprint sensor & infrared emitter
The fingerprint scanner is now no more a novel addition in a mid-ranged smartphone models, and is being highly praised as a great security feature to protect one’s personal data. The Xiaomi Mi Max will be offering the fingerprint reader to offer its security benefits to the users, which includes unlocking the smartphone to authorizing online payments. The new phablet also offers an infrared emitter that can turn the smartphone into a universal remote controller, which is certainly a handy thing.

The new Xiaomi Mi Max comes featuring a 16 MP primary rear shooter that boasts of a 5-lens setup along with a large f/2.0 aperture. The primary camera also gets the great features including dual-tone LED flash, phase detection autofocus, and HDR. The device also offers a 5 MP secondary front facing camera which also features the same f/2.0 aperture of the rear camera and an 85-degree wide angle lens to offer great detailed selfies and smooth video chat sessions.

The new Chinese packs in a humongous battery pack to offer proper support to its large screen. The Mi Max draws its juice from a massive 4850 mAh battery, which is the largest battery that is avail on any smartphone in the market. Xiaomi has not yet disclosed the battery life details yet, but is said that it can offer 14 hours of video streaming through Wi-Fi support on a single charge. The battery also supports Quick Charging.

Storage & Connectivity
The new Xiaomi Mi Max comes with a large inbuilt storage space of 64 GB, which should be enough for most users. However, there is no option of expanding the memory via a MicroSD card.

The new smartphone model offers all standard modern connectivity options including 4G, 3G, 2G, and Bluetooth v4.2, Mobile Hotspot, Wi-Fi 802.11, a/ac/b/g/n/n 5GHz, GPS along with A-GPS, NFC, Glonass, and microUSB 2.0.

Price According to Configuration & Availability
The Mi Max is now available for global pre-orders through online e-commerce portal GearBest. The smartphone is available in three configurations for the various global markets, e.g. a 32 GB along with 3 GB of RAM version that has been priced at $325.89 (approximately Rs. 21,600);

A 64 GB along with 3 GB of RAM that is priced at $359.89 (approximately Rs. 24000); and a top-end version that comes with 128 GB along with 4 GB of RAM which is tagged at $499.89 (approximately Rs. 33000). However, the high-end version is not expected to come to India.

While the Xiaomi Mi Max is currently available for pre-orders globally from GearBest, the smartphone has been already available for pre-orders in the Chinese market, the smartphone model has already garnered more than 10 million mark pre-orders, and it is still on the rise. At present, the Mi Max is offered only in Light Grey and Champagne body color options, while more colors might be offered later. The global pre-sale of the new phablet will end on 21st of June 2o16. The smartphone is expected to hit the mobile market of India in July 2016.
